Student Safety Concerns at Houston ISD Schools

These concerns have been brought to light by Jackie Anderson, the president of the Houston Federation of Teachers. Anderson has raised alarm about malfunctioning defibrillators at several HISD schools, including Marshall Middle School, following a tragic incident where a student collapsed during a gym class and later passed away.
Defibrillator Malfunctions and Lack of Maintenance
According to Anderson, multiple staff members have reported that the defibrillators at Marshall Middle School were not operational when they were needed most. Despite efforts to use the devices during emergencies, they reportedly had no effect.
