Rescued Alligator Finds New Home in Montgomery County
In a heartwarming turn of events, an alligator found tied to a tree in a Richmond subdivision has been rescued and relocated to Montgomery County. The reptile, measuring six-and-a-half feet, was discovered near a detention pond, left stranded and helpless.
Community Efforts to Ensure Alligator’s Safety
Upon learning about the stranded alligator, Westpark Lakes HOA President Bernadette Plummer immediately took action. She reached out to various authorities, including animal control, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and game wardens, in an effort to secure the reptile’s well-being.
Despite initial challenges and bureaucratic hurdles, Plummer persisted in her quest to rescue the alligator. Eventually, the responsibility fell on MUD 50, the owner of the property where the alligator was located, to take action.

Upon release into the San Jacinto River, the alligator swam away contentedly, marking a happy ending to a potentially dangerous situation.
Overall, this heartwarming rescue serves as a reminder of the importance of wildlife conservation and community efforts to ensure the safety of all creatures, no matter how misunderstood or feared.
