Tragic Deaths in the Aftermath

Causes of Death
Tragically, the death toll continued to rise as the full extent of the storm’s impact became apparent. A house fire near Hobby Airport claimed the life of one individual, and a Houston Police Department employee lost his life while driving through high water on his way to work. Two men and a woman died from heat-related causes after power outages left them exposed to extreme temperatures. Finally, authorities discovered two individuals deceased in a tent in a wooded area of Magnolia, with the circumstances of their deaths still under investigation.
