Back-to-School Supply Events in Houston: Get Ready for the New School Year

1. Shell Hosts Fourth Annual Mayor’s Homecoming
The fourth annual Mayor’s Homecoming event, hosted by Shell, is open to elementary school students (grades K-5) in the greater Houston area. Families can pre-register online or register on-site for this event, which will take place on Saturday, August 3 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Free parking is available in Astros car parks B and C.
2. Uniforms, Backpack Drives, and Free Haircuts for School-Age Students
Join Glory Fitness, Boykins Youth Foundations, and other organizations for the 10th annual uniforms, backpacks, and free haircut drive for all school-age students. This event will also offer immunization and wellness services and aims to serve over 500 students. It will take place on Wednesday, August 7 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at Evan E. Worthing High School.
3. Back-to-School for Better Driving: Spring and Conroe ISD
Church programs, local county organizations, and others are teaming up to provide school supplies, haircuts, shoes, uniforms, hygiene products, and more for over 1,200 students in Spring and Conroe ISD. The event will take place on August 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 602 Pruitt Road in The Woodlands.
