Break-In at Wakefield Crowbar: Thief Caught on Camera Crawling Through Bar
In a daring heist that left the owners of the Wakefield Crowbar in Garden Oaks reeling, a thief broke into the establishment in the early hours of the morning. The theft was captured on camera, showcasing the thief’s unconventional tactics.
Unusual Break-In Tactics
The break-in occurred at around 5:30 a.m. when the thief used a crowbar to force their way into the bar. Miguel Cruz, a co-owner of the establishment, noted that the thieves seemed experienced, as they made their way through the premises with ease.
They arrived in a silver Mercedes with paper license plates and quickly scaled the fence to gain access. What was most shocking was their behavior inside the bar – they crawled low to the ground, avoiding security alarms, and headed straight for the office area where the safe was kept.
Executing the Heist
The thieves’ covert movements were all caught on camera, showcasing their stealthy approach to the crime. In a “Mission: Impossible” style maneuver, they cut a square out of the safe using a torch or grinder, making off with two safes containing $4,000.
This unfortunate incident comes at a challenging time for the bar, as they are still recovering from the aftermath of Hurricanes Derecho and Berrier. The owners are determined to bounce back, but the setback has dealt a significant blow to their efforts.
Police Investigation and Call for Information
Houston police are actively investigating the break-in, seeking any leads that could help apprehend the perpetrators. Anyone with information is urged to contact the authorities or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS to assist in solving the case.
In the face of adversity, the owners of Wakefield Crowbar remain resilient, determined to overcome this setback and emerge stronger. As they work towards rebuilding their business, they hope for justice to be served and for the thieves to be brought to account for their actions.
