Community Honors Fallen Deputy Fernando Esqueda
The Houston community recently gathered to pay tribute to Harris County deputy Fernando Esqueda, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty. Last week, Esqueda, 28, was on an undercover assignment to track a suspect when he was shot and killed in a senseless act of violence.
Remembering a Hero
Esqueda was a dedicated member of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office for five years, serving on the HCSO Violent Person Warrant Task Force. He was engaged to be married in September, with a promising future ahead of him. The community came together to honor his memory and show support for his grieving family.
Celebrating Esqueda’s Life
A viewing was held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Houston’s Second Ward, where community members paid their respects to Esqueda. His funeral Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, with speeches given in his honor. The services will be broadcast live for those unable to attend in person.
Justice for Fernando Esqueda
The suspects involved in Esqueda’s tragic death, Ronnie Palmer and Draymon Francis, have been charged with capital murder. The community is united in seeking justice for Deputy Esqueda and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable for their actions.
As the Houston community mourns the loss of a dedicated deputy, they also come together to celebrate his life and honor his memory. Fernando Esqueda will forever be remembered as a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to his community. May his legacy inspire us all to strive for a safer and more just society.
