Exciting News: New Oyster Hut Restaurant Opening in Houston Suburb
If you’re a foodie in the Houston area, you’re in for a treat! Renowned businessman and Turkey Leg Hut co-founder, Lynn Price, is gearing up to open his latest culinary venture in a Houston suburb.
A New Dining Experience
The new Oyster Hut brick-and-mortar store is set to debut in Lewes, Texas, and the anticipation is palpable among social media users. Located at 701 FM 1160 in Louise, just a 45-minute drive from Houston, Price promises a one-of-a-kind dining experience.
According to Price’s Instagram post, the restaurant will boast ample parking space for approximately 150 cars, a fully equipped kitchen, three unique bars, and a main stage for live performances by talented artists and DJs.
Moreover, Price plans to cater to a multitude of areas, including El Campo, Hierro, Ganado, Edna, Victoria, Wharton, Richmond, Rosenberg, Bay City, and Columbus. The restaurant aims to bring a taste of the world to these communities through exceptional hospitality and delectable dishes.
Challenges and Triumphs
Price’s journey in the restaurant industry hasn’t been without its share of challenges. Back in 2017, he opened Turkey Leg Shack with his now-estranged wife, Nakia Holmes. However, personal and professional struggles plagued the couple, leading to a publicized legal dispute earlier this year.
In January 2023, Price and Nakia were embroiled in a lawsuit filed by American Foods, alleging that they had failed to settle a sizable grocery bill totaling $1.2 million. The legal battle shed light on the couple’s troubled relationship, with Nakia revealing instances of abuse and manipulation at the hands of Price.
Following the fallout, Price faced professional repercussions, resulting in layoffs at Turkey Leg Hut. Despite the setbacks, he forged ahead and launched the first Oyster Shack as a pop-up establishment, showcasing resilience in the face of adversity.
A New Chapter
As Turkey Leg Hut & Company, LLC. navigated the fallout from the legal proceedings, they made the decision to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March 2023, halting all collection efforts. Despite the challenges, Price remains dedicated to his culinary pursuits and is eagerly looking forward to the grand opening of Oyster Hut.
With a focus on providing top-notch service and a diverse menu, Price is determined to carve out a new legacy in the Houston dining scene. The story of Turkey Leg Hut may have had its share of twists and turns, but the opening of Oyster Hut signals a fresh start and a promising future for Price’s culinary endeavors.
