Ridge Point High School Graduate Fighting for Life After Car Accident
Emmanuel Terrence Howard, a former player and graduate of Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas, is currently fighting for his life after a tragic car accident. Howard, who graduated from Ridge Point High School in 2022, went on to play football at the University of Alabama before transferring to North Carolina Central University.
The Accident and Severe Injuries
Howard was involved in a minor car accident on Interstate 85 near Salisbury, North Carolina, during a storm early Monday morning. After checking on the other people involved in the accident, Howard was tragically hit by another passing vehicle. As a result of the accident, Howard suffered life-threatening injuries, including a severe traumatic brain injury, and is currently on a respirator in a hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Support from the Community and Call to Action
Howard’s family has received an outpouring of support from North Carolina Central University, the University of Alabama, and even former Alabama head coach Nick Saban. In an effort to help cover the costs of Howard’s transportation back to Houston and medical treatment, the Howard family has set up a GoFundMe page.
