Missing 12-year-old Girl and Man Subject of Second AMBER Alert This Week
A second AMBER Alert has been issued for a 12-year-old girl who is believed to be missing with a man. This latest case involves the girl, who was last seen in the 400 block of Green Road on the North Side. The sister of the 12-year-old girl involved in the most recent Amber Alert stated that the Manville police found her alive. However, like prior Amber Alerts, there are many unanswered questions surrounding this situation.
Two Cases, Two Girls, and Two Male Suspects
In both recent cases, two 12-year-old girls and two male suspects allegedly disappeared in a black truck with the victim within a week. Remarkably, both cases ended with the girls being found alive. However, the timing of the Amber Alerts for each case differed significantly.
While both cases fall under the jurisdiction of the Houston Police Department, there were frustrations expressed by family members in the first case. They claimed that an Amber Alert was issued approximately 27 hours after the girl was reported missing on Monday, citing jurisdictional confusion between Houston and Harris County. The girl was eventually found after the Amber Alert was issued.
In the second case that occurred on a Friday, the girl’s sister mentioned to KPRC 2 that the girl was reported missing around midnight, with an Amber Alert following 12 and a half hours later at 12:35 p.m. Subsequently, the girl was located approximately six hours after the Amber Alert was issued.
AMBER Alert Issuance Process
To issue an AMBER Alert, the reporting agency must submit details of a missing person report to the Department of Public Safety. The alert is then issued based on specific criteria being met. Despite the alert being issued, there are still uncertainties surrounding the circumstances of the girls’ disappearances and the fate of the men accused of taking them.
In conclusion, as more information becomes available, updates will be provided regarding these cases involving missing 12-year-old girls. The community remains vigilant as authorities work diligently to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved.
