The Mysterious Case of the Unidentified Victim
In 1964, a tragic discovery was made in Fort Bend County, Texas. The victim, a black-haired white man, was found in a ditch near FM 359. Despite extensive efforts by detectives, the man’s identity remained a mystery for decades.
A Gruesome Discovery
The victim, who was about 50 years old, stood at approximately 6 feet tall and weighed around 185 pounds. He had been subjected to a horrific fate – he was beheaded, and his hands and legs were amputated. In addition, he had broken ribs, but no other distinguishing marks that could lead to his identification.
A Cold Case Reopened
After 40 years of being laid to rest without a name, the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Cold Case Team decided to exhume the remains. With advancements in forensic biology and DNA analysis, they hoped to uncover new information that could finally bring justice to the victim and closure to his surviving family members.
Transitioning from the initial discovery to the reopening of the case, the Sheriff Eric Fagan expressed his team’s determination to seek answers that were previously out of reach. As the investigation continues, the hope remains strong that the victim will finally be identified, and his killer brought to justice.
